2008
and
what a good beginning to
the year at Manchester Championship
show in January where Marj
Barber awarding CCs for
the first time gave the
Bitch CC, her first, to
Jan Twentyman and Richard
Thompson's Drishaun Djemima
at Gothika ShCM 1RCC, "Suki"
is litter sister to our
own Drishaun Declan JW ShCM
1CC 4RCCs who won the RDCC
at this show. RBCC
went to another "family"
member namely Jill Cross'
Gilari Take That
JW 1CC 2RCCs (all three
being sired by Dwayne).
At
the beginning of February
Declan won Best Dog and
RBIS at the NEAHS Open Show.
Unfortunately
the next three months saw
Avril out of action with
back problems but others
kept our stock in the news
with Gilari Take That
JW winning her 2nd CC at
the Northern Afghan Hound
Society Ch Show and Drishaun
Djemima at Gothika ShCM
winning BIS at the Afghan
Hound Club of Scotland Open
Show.
Mid
April saw us return to the
show scene at Humberside
Hound Association Open Show
where Declan went BIS .
May
and the venue Stafford for
Birmingham National Ch Show
where our Katie, Drishaun
Djacquetta won Post Graduate
bitch. Jill Cross
won Limit bitch with Gilari
That's Entertainment, Pat
Shaw won Post Graduate dog
with Normarand Return Of
The King and Barbara Baucutt
won Mid Limit dog with Drishaun
Delorian ShCM, all Dwayne
kids.
A
cold, wet and windy Bath
Ch Show at the end
of May where Declan picked
up his 5th RCC despite Mike
(handling) managing to fall
over in the treacherous
conditions!
With
good things, sadly always
come the bad things and
we had to say goodbye to "Erik"
Alphavilles The Pathfinder
To Drishaun, who died
peacefully in his sleep
on 28 May after a long illness,
this coming just days after
we lost "Bella"
Caldaykaa Rose Arey.
July
saw Suki wining Best Bitch
and RBIS at the NEAHS Open
Show.
On
to August and fantastic
news from WKC where "Ronnie"
won his 3rd and qualifying
CC at long last. The
3rd Champion to come from
this history making litter.
The
following week we travelled
to SKC and had more success
with Charles winning his
class, and Declan winning
another RCC to add to his
tally. After having
to evacuate the building
due to the fire alarm going
off, judging resumed with
the bitches and Camilla
won her class, the CC and
BOB !!! A very long
and tiring day but oh so
worth the journey! And
so another Drishaun starts
the journey towards that
elusive Champion title.
October,
NEAHS Ch Show, Declan won
his 2nd CC and RBIS. Celebrations
in our house that night!!
Camilla also won Mid Limit
Bitch at this show.

2007
started
off with Camilla being RBPIS
at the Yorkshire Afghan
Open Show in January and
BPIS at the North Eastern
Afghan Open Show in February.
Meanwhile Declan went
BIS (all breeds) at Darlington
Open Show and BIS the following
day at the North Eastern
Afghan Open Show. At
the end of March, Declan
won the Hound Group at Eastwood
Open Show whilst Camilla
won RBPIS at the Midland
Afghan Open Show and BPIS
at the Northern Afghan Open
Show. April saw her
winning RBPIS at the Western
Afghan Open Show. Into
May and Declan won BIS at
the Southern Afghan Open
Show and BIS at Border Counties
Hound Open Show where he
also won enough points for
his Show Certificate of
Merit award. Declan
is the 5th Drishaun hound
to win this award and joins
his brother and sister Delorian
and Djemima together with
his older brother and sister
D'Lucien and Ch D'Lucille.
Sadly
we had to say goodbye to
Drishaun Demelza ,
sister to Vinnie, after
a short illness.
July
saw Serena winning her 3rd
CC at Paignton to become
Ch Renza Paint The Town
Red Among Mogells for her
owner Sandra Ellis. Liz
must have been smiling in
heaven that day to see the
2nd of this litter gain
their titles. A good
day too for Jan Twentyman
and Rich Thompson when "Suki"
Drishaun Djemima at Gothika
won the RCC and our own
"Camilla" won
the final points for her
Junior Warrant. Declan
kept the flag flying for
the boys when he won BIS
again at the Southern Afghan
Club Open Show.
August,
exciting news, Drishaun
Djamila confirmed in whelp
to Drishaun Have An 'Ice
Day, puppies due mid September.

September - 11 puppies,
3 bitches, 8 dogs - tragically
their mother died almost
48 hours later. We
are still in shock at the
loss of this beautiful young
bitch, but the puppies must
be cared for and hand reared.
September
also saw Lynne Newton's
Drishaun Daisymae at Shimalma (litter
sister to Djamila) taking
the RCC from Post Graduate
Bitch at Driffield where
Camilla won the Junior Bitch
class.
October
and most of our time is
spent raising the puppies
but Camilla had a trip out
to the North Eastern AHS
Championship Show where
she won her last Junior
class and took the Bitch
RCC under breed specialist
Shirley Carr !! At
the same show Marj Barber/Barbara
Henry's Dwayne son "Normarand
Just A Dream" took
the Dog RCC following on
from his success at the
AHC of Scotland Championship
Show where he won his first
CC.
On
to December and the last
show of the year LKA ...
what a show for us! Drishaun
'Ice If You C'n Get It (Ronnie)
owned by Denise and Ian
Rogers, won his 2nd CC and
BOB. Drishaun Declan
won the RDCC and Drishaun
I'll Tell You No Lies won
her 2nd RBCC. A Dwayne
daughter Gilari Take That
JW won her 1st CC. Other
Drishauns were well placed
throughout the classes.
2006
was in many ways a very
sad year for us as we had
to say goodbye to 6 of our
hounds, including our all
time great "Dwayne",
a terrible shock to us to lose
this magnificent dog so
young.
On
the plus side however, we
did have things to celebrate
... the arrival of two miracle
babies from our beautiful
"Princess" ...
"Charles" Drishaun
Ask Me No Questions ...
and "Camilla"
Drishaun I'll Tell You No
Lies ... made their show
debut in October and we
have great hopes for them.
Their father "Declan"
won the RCC at the Northern
AHS Ch Show in March, followed
by another RCC at Paignton
in July and finished the
year winning the CC and
BIS at the Western AHC in
November.
Dwayne's
daughter, "Jorja"
Ch Renza Designer Red by
Shimalma won the CC at Paignton
and her crowning 3rd CC
at Driffield in October,
making her a first Champion
for her delighted owner
Lynne Newton. Jorja's
sister "Serena" Renza
Paint The Town Red Among
Mogells (owned by Sandra
Ellis) is patiently waiting
for that all important 3rd
CC. Their breeder
Liz O'Connor-Thomas would
have been so very proud
of this lovely litter. Sadly
Liz lost her battle with
Cancer at the end of 2005.

at Driffield Dwayne's brother
"Ronnie" Drishaun
'Ice If You C'n Get It won
his first CC & BOB,
a great thrill for his owners
Denise and Ian Rogers
(Labakan Salukis). In
fact this was a fantastic
show for us and a great
morale lifter coming less
than a month after the loss
of Dwayne. "Declan"
won Post Graduate Dog, "Andsome"
Drishaun D'Lucien won
Limit Dog and the RCC. "Daisymae"
won Special Yearling Bitch,
"Katie" won Post
Graduate Bitch and "Jorja"
won Limit Bitch, the CC
and her title on the day.
Other Drishaun bred
or sired hounds were very
well placed throughout the
classes.
At
the North Eastern AHS Ch
Show in October Ronnie's
son Saboush Raffyk at Mahsud
(owner Ted and Jenny Collett)
won his first CC and brother
Saboush Razzak (owner/breeder
Joanna Hodge) won the RCC
at the Southern AC in December.
"Katie" aka Drishaun
Djacquetta, followed on
from her win at Driffield
and ended the year winning
the RCC at the Southern
AC Ch Show, with older half
sister "Jorja"
taking her 4th CC. Camilla
was Best Puppy Bitch &
RBPIS here too.
Dwayne's
youngest kids out of Davinia
(a repeat of the Declan/Katie
litter) had a good year
too, our own "Dave"
Drishaun Davante won his
JW and not to be outdone
his sister Daisymae (owned
by Lynne Newton) won
her JW too.
