We have owned, shown and bred Afghan Hounds since the early 70`s.

Back in 1972, and with a previous partner, Avril owned and bred Afghans under the AVIBAR prefix. Mike, with a previous partner, owned and bred Afghans under the LANDHAVI prefix. We joined forces in 1984 and since then have had great success producing Champions, CC and Reserve CC winners for ourselves and many other exhibitors. To date we have owned or bred 14 UK Champions and several CC, Reserve CC and Junior Warrant winners, which makes us one of the most successful kennels in the UK.

Our lines have been based almost exclusively on MOONSWIFT bloodlines and CARLOWAY type and we are the only English kennel to consistently produce this beautiful type of ENGLISH Afghan.

In 1993 we broadened our horizons with the acquisition of a quarantine born puppy bitch from Australia.  Bred by Lynda and John Race, Kaskarak, she carried lines back to the foundation of our kennel, Ch Moonswift Moonglade, plus valuable new blood from some of the best Australian kennels.   Ch Kaskarak Alice Springs gained her title in 1999 and in 2000 produced another generation of Drishaun progeny.  Sadly she left us at the end of 2004 and is greatly missed.

In 1998 history was made when we bred the first ever litter of Afghan Hound puppies born in the UK by artificial insemination using frozen semen from the USA.  This widened our gene pool yet again and the litter has gone from strength to strength, two from this litter are now Champions plus 2 others with RCCs.

1999 saw the completion of our quest for international bloodlines with the addition of a young dog from the Alphavilles kennel in Sweden who combines the best of Scandinavia with a touch of Australia.

Truly now an international kennel yet still maintaining English type and quality.

We both award CCs in Afghan Hounds and judge other Hound breeds.

We are both Members of The Kennel Club and both serve on the Committee of the Yorkshire Afghan Hound Society, Mike currently holding the position of Vice Chairman and Avril has been Treasurer for the past 10 years.

We have also owned or co-owned two Deerhounds, one of which won 2CCs before his untimely death.

We also own or co-own two Salukis - Labakan Limoges "Macaroni"  and his brother Labakan Cameo "Mickimoto" both very handsome black fringed fawns.
